Hello All Politically Concerned People,
In California yesterday, just outside of San Francisco, five teenagers were sent home from school for wearing American Flag Apparel on the fifth of May. The reason given is that the flag apparel was "racist" against the 40% population of hispanic students attending the high school and that the fifth of May was a Mexican holiday.
I can now declare, loudly, that the politically correct movement has collectively gone insane.
Since when, ever in our history, is it not o.k. to be an American in America? Since when is it not o.k. to be proud of the flag that our forefathers and mothers fought and died for, and continue to protect and defend at this very moment? Just when did being pro-American mean anti-anyone else; that one is easy; IT DIDN'T!
Quite frankly, If the wearing of American themed apparel offends you, on any day of the year, go back to your own country and stay out of mine. Love it or leave it baby!
The funny part of this incident is that at least two of the five teens were hispanic themselves. The statement the five friends were making is that even on the fifth of May, what counts most is being an American, not their ethnicity! Do they sound like racists to you?
As Americans we can and do celebrate our differences, it is what creates the rich tapestry that makes us unique and helps to make us great; but where the rubber meets the road, America must come first. United we stand, divided we fall. This should be a history lesson taught in every U.S. school. Has it been left out of the curriculum at this school? Is it missing from your schools? Maybe it is time to check.
Thank you for listening.
